Grapevine International Conference 2001
Grapevine is a unique event that takes place every August on the extensive Lincoln show grounds.
Every year, the site is filled with tents and caravans as people come together from across northern England and beyond to celebrate their Christian faith and receive teaching from some of the sharpest ministries around.
This year, around 8000 people were on site throughout the event, and took part in the programs aimed at various key age-groups. The Big Top circus tent, where the main sessions were held, seated around 5000 people and was packed every day.
Speakers for the weekend included: Joseph Garlington (USA), Francis Van Niekirk (South Africa), Gerald Coates (UK), Stuart Bell (UK) and Mal Fletcher. One of Mal's sessions was the last evening, where all generations came together in the one place for what was an outstanding statement of faith and a commissioning for world influence.
He said later: 'This was my third visit to Grapevine over a six year period. The meetings were charged with a sense of God's presence; the teaching was relevant and prophetic and the general atmosphere on the site was very friendly and warm (as was the English summer weather!)'
'What was especially significant this year was the fact that twenty-one nations were represented at the event. Leaders and their people had flown in from around Europe and the world to take part.'

Your message re sex & abstinence just reinstated things that I believe and I'm thankful that I'm not alone or 'archaic' in my views.
