Strategic Consultation for Europe
Key Senior Church Leaders Meet
What do you get when you bring together 12 of Europe's key senior church leaders for a time of Strategizing, Prayer and Resourcing? You get the Strategic Consultation for Europe which was held on May 6-7 in Oslo, Norway.
The event, sponsored by Next Wave International and led by Mal Fletcher, brought together key leaders of major churches and networks of churches from the U.K., Sweden, Norway, Holland, Iceland, Germany and Brussels plus some special guests from the U.S. and Canada.
This was the first time this group had met together and it was exciting to see the openness and obvious hunger to touch contemporary cultures with the gospel. It was also wonderful to watch the creativity flow among leaders from different denominational backgrounds.
The event was hosted at Oslo Christian Centre and leaders were inspired by being in this great facility. Pastor Åge Aleskjer, himself a member of the group, welcomed the leaders and opened the centre for their inspection.
Among those who presented papers at the event were Stuart Bell (Ground Level churches, U.K.), John Angelina (Gospel Life Centre) and Åge Aleskjer. From the feedback received at Next Wave's office to date, it seems that the need for this kind of meeting is great. Plans are now underway for a similar meeting next year.

Hey Mal, I'm in Melbourne & grabbed your book Making God Famous. I was inspired as you told the story of leaving Youth Alive & going to Europe. People who maintain their passion are an encouragement to us all.
Gerry, Australia
Mal, it was good to see you at Christian Broadcasters Conference 07. You have an insight & perspective that's extremely helpful as the UK Christian Broadcasting industry slowly grows up & matures.
Tim, United Kingdom
Passion: I think it flew out the window the moment political correctnes reared its ugly head! So much in the world today is bland and lacking in intensity but I don't want to calm down!
Ann, Australia
