Berlin Connect Takes The Long View
Berlin Connect, a church in the heart of Germany's capital, is now in its fifth year and already showing signs of becoming a force to be reckoned with in the long-term.
The church was pioneered by Mark and Joyce Wilkinson, who were originally in the core leadership at Hillsong Church, London.
Since arriving in Berlin, they have taken on a growing sense of vision for the city and for the German nation. Mark is a strategic thinker who is constantly looking for the long view.
Mal Fletcher taught in the church recently, for the second time. He flew in on Saturday afternoon to immediately lecture young marketplace leaders on 'Getting Ahead of the Change Curve'.
These sessions were held in the church office hub, which was jammed to the doors with talented and hungry leaders and emerging leaders, from the worlds of business, media and more.
The following day, Mal spoke to three services across the day, each one filled again with mainly young adult people. All sessions throughout the weekend were held in English, which is a testament to the cosmopolitan nature of modern Berlin.
After his visit, Mal said: 'This is a church I definitely want to keep on track with. I've always loved Mark and Joyce, but the church - and the city - has gotten under my skin!'
'I believe that, if the leadership remains consistently strategic and outward looking, this church could be a hub of influence in some of the major sectors of Berlin society.'
Next Wave International, in conjunction with 2020Plus, is planning to run the 20.2020Project for civic leaders in Berlin, starting in 2014.

There is such a great need for prophetic interpretations of what is going on in the world. You are very influential!

Just wanted to let you know that what you are doing is affecting and impacting lives beyond what you see. It is helping to keep us sharp as a church.
Chris, USA
I love your "innocence vs ignorance" idea (Daily Recharge). We all can return to that place of innocence even if others have previously stolen it or we have lost it. Thanks for all your encouragement every morning.
