Added 06 April 2005 View full list    Print version
The popular 'EDGES with Mal Fletcher' TV series' picked up an award at this year's National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) convention in the USA.

EDGES was awarded second prize in the News and Documentary section of the People's Choice Awards, for the series six pilot entitled 'Crime and Punishment'. The program deals with the hot issue of rising crime and how we might increase respect for the law.

On receiving notification of the award, producer and host Mal Fletcher said: 'Our team are very proud of the EDGES programs, and we are very pleased and grateful to have won this recognition. As we move into new areas of production, we take this as an encouragement to keep taking risks. More than anything else, we want to speak when people listen.'

Re the Bridgend suicides: This is a horrible tragedy for this town. The promise and excitement these young people have missed of college, getting married, children, having a career, being a grandparent, traveling the world... Where is the parental involvement in all this?

Mal, did you start out as a journalist? You are one of the most naturally gifted writers whose works I have had the pleasure of reading. I just love your succinct way of delivering words that paint a captivating picture.
