Europe: A History
Norman Davies
What can I say about this wonderful volume?! It's one of the all-time classics on the history of Europe, even though it was written just 10 years ago. With his enormous volume of source materials and an engaging writing style, Davies' book has surpassed any other I've read on Europe's history from ancient times through to the present. To be honest, this is a book I'm still reading, piece-by-piece, a little at a time. It's huge. I appreciate the way Davies has given Christianity its rightful place in the development of European culture. I can't speak highly enough of this one, so I'd better leave it there. Oh, BTW, this is not airplane reading -- even the paperback is heavier is almost as heavy as my small notebook PC...

Hi Mal, you recently preached at our Sunday service at Rhema Bible Church in Joburg, South Africa. You preached God's word with such simplicity and I left church feeling really inspired. It's been a blessing going through the articles on this site.
