Historic Lincoln Sees New Life

28 March 2006

The historic city of Lincoln, UK, is witnessing a new level of Christian influence thanks in part to the New Life Christian Fellowship, led by Stuart Bell.

Mal Fletcher spoke at the church recently and found a group of people who, in his words, are 'ready to be the city on a hill Jesus spoke about.'

Famed for its huge cathedral and its links with the early history of Britain, the city is also home to many tertiary students. Since a new university opened here a few years ago, young adults have helped to reshape the culture and appearance of the city.

As well as leading the New Life church, which own and operates a listed church building, a local landmark, Stuart Bell also heads up the Ground Level network of churches across England. The network also has affiliate churches in other parts of the world.

The network has, for 9 years, been a key supporter of the work of Next Wave International.

In introducting Mal, Stuart refered to the partnership. 'Sometimes, it's easy to become locked into the local scene. Associating closely with people like Mal allows us to see the big picture of what God is doing and saying.'
