Hillsong Paris Lights Up City of Lights

Paris is known, among other things, as the city of lights. Hillsong Church Paris is helping to shed a very different kind of light on this renowned global centre.

Mal Fletcher was guest speaker for all services spread across a recent Sunday and, in the three years since he had last visited he found that the church had triple in size.

Now drawing around 2100 people each Sunday – actually, it grows by the month – this house of faith is meeting every challenge that crosses its path.

The church is led by Pastors Brendan and Cammi White, who are long-time friends of Mal and Davina Fletcher.

‘Many church leaders might have become complacent if they were in Brendan’s shoes, with the growth his team has seen,’ says Mal, ‘but Brendan and his team are far from relaxed!’

‘They’re constantly thinking two steps ahead, analysing in a healthy way how the church can grow further, not just in size but in terms of its positive impact for people across the city.’

During this visit, Mal also addressed the Kingdom Builders group, a gathering of business and other leaders who are committed to practically partnering with the vision.

‘I love the atmosphere in this church,’ adds Mal. ‘It’s full of the famous joie de vivre people always associate with Paris. At Hillsong Paris, though, it’s a joy based in something more substantial than wine and good food.’

The strength of EDGES is that it explains it's argument in logical steps without the usual emotive language. If all the logical steps are present and correct, it is difficult to disagree with the point being made whether you are a Christian or not. You give a balanced argument.

Rocknations went to another level this year: it was rocking. The bands were awesome, the messages were life-changing, challenging me to live God loud. It's amazing when God shows up at a place.

Great to hear those 80s songs (that blessed so many back then). 'To share God's love in music and word' is a great calling. I guess there's no time for a new album?!
